The TCS London Marathon is organised by a third-party organiser and you agree to their own terms and conditions when registering.
Shaftesbury allocate places on the basis of a pre-determined selection process that aims to maximise fundraising income.
If selected, you will be sent a payment link for the non-refundable £65 registration fee. This must be paid within seven days of your place being offered.

You agree to respond to any correspondence that requires a response.
You must meet the minimum participation age of 18 on the event day.
You are responsible for covering all travel and accommodation costs for the event and for your fundraising. Shaftesbury will not reimburse any costs if your place is withdrawn.
Unless you notify us in writing beforehand, you consent to Shaftesbury using photographs or videos of you taken on the event day in our promotional materials.

Fundraising commitments
By accepting a place in the TCS London Marathon on behalf of Shaftesbury, you commit to raising a minimum of £2,200 (excluding Gift Aid) and have a realistic fundraising plan in place.
All funds raised should be paid to Shaftesbury no later than 24 May 2027.
You must reach two milestone fundraising targets:
- £400 by 1st December 2026
- £800 by 1st February 2027
Shaftesbury reserves the right to withdraw your place at any time if you do not reach these milestones and do not contact us to discuss your progress. This allows us to re-allocate your place to someone on our waiting list. We will be in regular contact to support your fundraising efforts to minimise the risk of this happening.
If you encounter difficulties in reaching your fundraising target, you agree to contact Shaftesbury as early as possible so we can support your fundraising efforts.
We welcome matched giving and can support you in arranging this. This income counts towards meeting your minimum fundraising target.
You agree to update Shaftesbury promptly about any cash/CAF/cheque/other donations that do not appear on your online fundraising page. You agree to carry out all fundraising activities in compliance with thee Fundraising Regulator’s code of conduct.
Withdrawal or deferral
If, for any reason, you need to withdraw from the event, you must inform Shaftesbury as soon as possible via phone (0191 300 9970) or email – events@shaftesburygroup.org.
Deferrals are at Shaftesbury’s discretion and are not guaranteed.
If you withdraw from the event, all fundraised income must be paid to Shaftesbury or returned to the donor, following the process outlined by the fundraising platform. Any money already paid to Shaftesbury will not be refunded.
If your place is deferred to the following year, you will be expected to comply with any terms and conditions, including fundraising targets and milestone dates, which may be subject to change from the original event. Any funds already raised will count towards your new target.
