Your gift will help us to provide vital technology to the people with disabilities we support.
Right now, only 38% of the people we support across Shaftesbury’s services are using assistive technology but demand is growing. Please give today so we can support more people like George with the assistive technology they need to be independent. Your gift could help provide communication aids, sensory equipment or smart devices that will transform the lives of the people with disabilities we support.
Your gift of care this year can make a real difference – thank you!
George's story
George is a bright 19-year-old with cerebral palsy, who lives at Shaftesbury’s New Court Place, a residential home that provides specialist care for residents who have complex physical and communication needs. Before George had access to assistive technology, he needed support for everyday things like opening and closing the curtains, listening to music and staying socially connected.
Now, with the right technology, George can do so much more on his own and has control over his world. He opens his curtains at the touch of a button. He plays interactive games with friends using a smart table. And with his laptop and iPad, he can study, game and stay connected.
People living with disabilities need the power that technology can offer to live independent lives.
Across our services, we support people with a wide range of complex disabilities. Meeting the diverse needs of each individual can be equally complex and costly.
Your gift will help us to provide assistive technology that the people we support with advanced technology, communication support, and vital equipment that empowers people to do more for themselves. That’s how we help individuals thrive – and your generosity makes it all possible.
