In this issue, you’ll read about Carmela, our star fundraiser. At just 11 years old, she’s raised over £400,000 for charity and became the youngest recipient of an MBE.
You’ll also meet Malcolm and his wife, Eileen, whose story shows the life-changing difference of our Shaftesbury Icanho service. After two devastating strokes, Eileen faced overwhelming challenges. But thanks to the specialist rehabilitation she received, Eileen was able to return home, reconnect with her loved ones, and begin to reclaim the life she and Malcolm had built together.
It’s stories like theirs that remind us why Shaftesbury exists – to ensure that people with disabilities and brain injuries can live with dignity, independence, and hope.
